Your Research Assignment

Paper on African History: (4-5 pgs. typed only)   This paper will focus on the historical development of one nation in modern Africa.  (A) Choose one modern nation in Africa.  (B) Research the history of your “chosen” country in terms of: a) ancient /tribal history;  b) contact with European or other non-African cultures     (through trade, exploration, or colonization);  c) 20th century transition from imperialism to independence; and d) modern nation (brief description of modern government, economy, and society).  Citations must be included in the paper; use M.L.A. citation format.  Minimum of three sources to be used (not the textbook or an encyclopedia).  Include a formal bibliography.
